The KSAFC Firefighter of the Year award is awarded to an individual for their exceptional performance, dedication, and contributions to firefighting. This award is bestowed upon a firefighter who has demonstrated exemplary bravery, leadership, impact, and professionalism in the line of duty. It serves as a way to honor and celebrate the outstanding achievements and service of firefighters who go above and beyond in protecting their communities.

To nominate a firefighter for this award, please include in your narrative examples to the following points as it pertains to your nomination:

Heroism: Demonstrated exceptional bravery and courage in the line of duty, potentially risking their own safety to save lives or protect property.

Performance Under Pressure: Exhibited exceptional performance under high-pressure situations, maintaining composure and effectiveness in challenging and stressful firefighting scenarios. 

Leadership: Displayed outstanding leadership skills, either in commanding firefighting operations, leading a team, or mentoring fellow firefighters. 

Teamwork: Demonstrated exceptional teamwork and collaboration skills, fostering a positive and supportive work environment among fellow firefighters.

Professionalism: Exemplified professionalism and dedication to the firefighting profession through continuous training, adherence to protocols, and commitment to upholding ethical standards.

Commitment to Excellence: Consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence in all aspects of firefighting duties, going above and beyond the call of duty to serve and protect the community.

Exemplary Service Record: Possessed a commendable service record, including length of service, commendations, awards, and recognition from peers and superiors.
