Training Officer of the Year Award

The KSAFC Training Officer of the Year is awarded to an individual within the fire service who is recognized for their exceptional leadership, dedication, and contributions to training and professional development within their department, area, and in Kansas. This award acknowledges their efforts in designing, implementing, and delivering high-quality training programs that effectively prepare firefighters for their duties and enhance the overall effectiveness of the department. Recipients of this award demonstrate excellence in instructional techniques, curriculum development, evaluation processes, safety practices, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the fire service. They play a crucial role in ensuring the competency, readiness, and safety of firefighters, ultimately contributing to the protection of lives and property within their community.


To nominate an individual for this award, please include in your narrative examples to the following points as it pertains to your nomination:

Program Development: Demonstrated excellence in designing, developing, and implementing training programs that effectively prepare firefighters for their duties and responsibilities. Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility in responding to changing training needs, emerging trends, and technological advancements within the fire service.
